The new plan

I realized a couple days ago that we went to big concerts in the cycle before getting pregnant in both of my previous pregnancies. We drove back to SK for the Rolling Stones concert at the beginning of October 2006. Then we went to see Coldplay here at the end of June 2009. Both times, we got pregnant on the next cycle. So clearly what I need to do to get pregnant is to go to a major concert. The next big concert here that I want to see is U2, but they don't play until June and I am NOT waiting until July to get pregnant. I understand why no one tours in northern Alberta in the middle of winter, but clearly I need to get to a concert big enough to have pyrotechnics and a giant video screen NOW. Anyone got any suggestions for a great concert in their neck of the woods in the next while? Seriously, I'll travel if that's what it takes, but probably not outside North America. (I'm crazy, but not THAT crazy, otherwise I'd be heading for Australia to see U2.) I may be forced to rent a concert DVD and stand way to close to our tiny sub-woofer for 2 hours if I get a BFN next week, just to see if that will do the trick.

I am liking your logic :) I am from the UK so I am pretty sure that any concerts here are going to be just a teeny bit too far!

If it does work with the DVD and sub woofer then I might have try the same thing :)

Sending babydust your way and hoping that someone a little closer to home can help you out with the concerts. I bet U2 would be fab.

great plan! are there not any small concerts you can get to if you can't find a suitable big one?

Well to match the other concerts it would have to be a big one and we don't want to mess with a clearly proven method. As well, I have basically avoided all "good" music for the last 9 months and so I wouldn't know who to go see anyways.

I have no idea what kind of music you like...my fave band since I was about 10 is Bon Jovi, they will be in Toronto on Feb 14 and 15.

okay, I got Eric Clapton on Feb 28th, I don't see that having a lot of pyrotechnics... Hmm there's Cake on the 13th, also no flames likely...

We have Linkin Park here on the 29th. Pretty loud and probaby going to be an ok show, but that's about it. I went a huge show in the early stages of my pregnancy with Chai and was so worried one I knew for sure that I had damaged his hearing or something. I've stayed away from concerts since. Even though I know how illogical it all seems. I hope you get your show and your BFP!

I think this is a brilliant plan. I'm sorry to say, though, that I don't really know of any concerts coming up. I'll keep my eyes open!

I like the way you think. You never know and it can't hurt to try it. I live near Toronto where there are some pretty bigs names doing concerts fairly regularly. Nothing much coming up that I know of though. At least you wouldn't have to leave the country, but it would be a pretty expensive concert.
